For Me, Summer Has Finally Arrived

The June gloom has lifted and I finally feel like summer is here.  Last weekend my husband and I spent two lazy days at Catalina Island with my parents.  We napped, ate, kayaked, napped, played a family Triominos tournament and turned in early.  It was heaven.  Fortunately, we're heading back for the long Fourth of July holiday weekend.  I'm counting the hours until we leave...

Marilyn's Mexican Furnishings

This weekend, Julien's Auctions will sell furniture, photos and personal items once belonging to Marilyn Monroe.

What really stood out to me were these folding stools with tasseled cushions.  The actress picked them up on a trip to Mexico and used them to furnish her Spanish style home in Los Angeles.

Can't you just see Marilyn perched on one of these beauties?  I adore the rustic wood paired with the girly cushions!  The tassels and colors give them a Moroccan vibe, no?

I think they would be equally chic in a living room, as Marilyn used them, or out on the patio.

This copper mirror is fabulous too!  Great for an entryway or powder room.

Sparker Shop on the Front Page!

My squirrel dish appeared on Etsy's front page last night - and sold moments later! There are many new items in the shop and lots to come in the next few weeks, so be sure to visit Sparker Shop often.

Spring Cleaning... Just in Time for Summer

Things have been quite busy at Sparker Shop!  Lots of new listings, lots of shopping and a whole lot of organizing.  The last two weekends have been spent cleaning and organizing our house and it feels great!  I feel like I finally have the 'shop' section of our house under control.  Here's a sneak peek, more photos on Flickr.
